“Being of French-Lebanese origin, I grew up in a country devastated by war and replete with collective rituals, ceremonies and popular worships dedicated to aggregation and commemoration. It took me years to realize the impact of this heritage upon my work. Nevertheless, the question of the acting body, the military corps, the sacred body and the immensity of the narrative field that goes with them are – have always been – at the very heart of my practice.
