Liubov M. is a Russian artist living and working in Cyprus, known for her luminous works that transform mirror glass into a surface of reverie, reflection, and tactile experience.

Her artistic path is shaped by an uncommon synthesis of science and art. Liubov studied at a physics and mathematics school before earning a degree in engineering biotechnology from Moscow State University. Drawn by an inner call toward artistic expression, she later pursued studies at the British Higher School of Art and Design, while also mastering the delicate crafts of stained glass and batik.

A lifelong experience of impaired eyesight has profoundly influenced Liubov’s way of seeing and creating. This personal condition led to the development of her distinctive relief technique, Vitrarto — a unique approach to painting on glass that can be “read” through touch. In Vitrarto, color, texture, and relief form a sensorial language where light is not only seen, but felt.

Gold, acrylic, and mirror glass intertwine in her works to create tactile visions of women, mythical beings, birds, horses, and dreamlike machines. Each piece unfolds as an emotional landscape — a sculpted surface alive with reflection and glow. The mirror beneath functions both as a portal and a veil: it reflects the viewer’s presence while concealing hidden worlds beneath layers of color, relief, and light.

Through a poetic and meditative process, Liubov explores the fragile threshold between the visible and the invisible, between silence and whisper. Her works speak of beauty, memory, and transformation, offering a contemporary echo of myth and romance rendered on glass.

Liubov’s works have been exhibited in galleries in Moscow and are currently presented at Lumiere Art Gallery, Cyprus. Her artworks belong to private collections in Moscow, Dubai, Cyprus, and other international locations. As the artist reflects:  « My works are not meant only to be seen — they are meant to be felt. Each surface carries a whisper of light, a trace of touch, a memory of gold. »
